In the heart of Jaffa, in a neighborhood teeming with life dwells the Movement for Progressive Judaism's pre-army Mechina program for leadership. We combine life in a lively and busy city, with studies and community volunteer work, all part of the constant quest of finding and examining our Jewish-Israeli identity. If you wish to formulate yourself a Jewish-Israeli identity that is fitting for a modern lifestyle, if you wish to volunteer in Jaffa and get to know it's varied population, if you believe that the preparation for the military is moral as well as physical, if you wish to delve on ancient texts and study them in a new and invigorating way, if you wish to take part in a communal life, creating culture and a rich social life, if you wish to walk the "Israel trail" and discover Israel and the Israeli society, if all the above intrigue and excite you, come and see what Jewish-Israeli leadership is! The Mechina is in Tel-Aviv-Jaffa, and welcomes the experience of a lively and interesting city life, a communal and social life in the spirit of the Progressive Judaism in Israel, and personal design of a Jewish-Israeli lifestyle. It combines theoretical studies as well as a journey on the "Israel trail" in a goal to discover Israel and its society, and provides many hours of volunteer work and social action in the Jaffa community.
